o 19.00 zaprezentuje swój wykład o specyfice gry w duecie fortepianowym Gil Garburg z Silver-Garburg Piano Duo (wykład będzie tłumaczony na jęz. polski), a następnie zagrają Piano Duo Kalabova & Gugg (przeniesieni z godziny 16.00).

Due to a sudden illness of Sivan Silver from Silver-Garburg Piano Duo, the schedule of today's performances at the Festival is as follows:
At the concert at 4.00 pm, Książek Piano Duo will perform a repertoire larger than originally planned.
At 7.00 pm, Gil Garburg will present his lecture on the specificity of playing in the piano duo (the lecture will be translated into Polish), followed by the performance of Kalabova & Gugg Piano Duo (moved from 4.00 pm).

We wspaniałej, lecz często niedocenianej sztuce gry w duecie fortepianowym, Sivan Silver i Gil Garburg wyznaczają nowe standardy. Ten uznany przez publiczność i krytyków duet był wielokrotnie zapraszany przez najznamienitsze orkiestry, na prestiżowe festiwale, przez znanych organizatorów koncertów. Duet występował w Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, wiedeńskiej Musikverein, Salzburg Festspielhaus, Sydney Opera House i Berlin Philharmonie, koncertował w około siedemdziesięciu krajach na pięciu kontynentach i regularnie współpracuje z takimi orkiestrami jak Israel Philharmonic, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Melbourne Symphony i Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie.
Dokonane przez Sivan Silver i Gila Garburga oraz Bawarską Filharmonię Kameralną pod dyrekcją Christophera Hogwooda nagranie koncertów Felixa Mendelssohna na dwa fortepiany i orkiestrę, zostało nazwane „zapierającym dech w piersiach” (Bayerische Rundfunk) i „niezwykle ekscytującym” (Süddeutsche Zeitung). Recenzent Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung zachwycał się „liryczną wrażliwością i porywającym technicznym mistrzostwem” duetu w nagraniu muzyki do baletów Igora Strawińskiego.
Ich najnowszy album „Illumination” został opisany jako „oświetlający złożoność arcydzieła w sposób, którego nigdy wcześniej nie słyszano”. Radio Bremen opisuje: „Największa sztuka gry na dwóch fortepianach. Oszałamiająca wirtuozeria... fantastyczne współbrzmienie...” i podsumowuje: „Dzięki tej płycie muzycy ci ostatecznie ugruntowali swoją topową pozycję na międzynarodowej scenie duetów fortepianowych”.
W 2020 roku Silver–Garburg Piano Duo połączył siły z Filharmonią Wiedeńską i maestro Florianem Krumpöckiem, w idei nagrania światowej premiery nowego utworu, który został napisany dla nich i im zadedykowany – adaptacji kwartetu fortepianowego op. 25 Johannesa Brahmsa na fortepian na cztery ręce i orkiestrę smyczkową, autorstwa Richarda Dünsera.
Od 2014 roku zespół obejmuje jedną z niewielu istniejących klas profesorskich dla duetu fortepianowego – na Uniwersytecie Sztuki w Grazu. Muzycy prowadza też kursy mistrzowskie w wiodących instytucjach akademickich w Moskwie, Pekinie, Melbourne, Wiedniu, Jerozolimie, Wellington, Tallinie, Waszyngtonie, Helsinkach, Bratysławie i innych. W latach wcześniejszych wykładali także w Wyższej Szkole Muzycznej w Hannoverze, w której sami ukończyli studia w 2007 roku w klasie prof. Arie Vardi.
Sivan i Gil stali u progu obiecujących karier solowych, gdy połączyli siły – najpierw prywatnie, a później przy instrumencie. W ciągu dwudziestu lat współpracy w duecie ugruntowali swoją pozycję na najwyższym poziomie w świecie muzyki. „W duecie fortepianowym łatwo jest osiągać efekty wirtuozowskie. Ale samo to – to zdecydowanie za mało. Chcemy poruszyć naszych słuchaczy emocjonalnie i obnażyć im rdzeń i duszę muzyki”.
In the great and often underappreciated art of piano duo playing, Sivan Silver and her partner Gil Garburg are setting a new standard: acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, the duo has been invited time and time again by top orchestras, festivals, and concert organizers. They have performed in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Vienna Musikverein, the Salzburg Festspielhaus, the Sydney Opera House and the Berlin Philharmonie; they have concertized in approximately 70 countries on five continents; and they collaborate
regularly with such orchestras as the Israel Philharmonic, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Melbourne Symphony and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie.
Their recording of Mendelssohn’s concertos for two pianos and orchestra, with the Bavarian Chamber Philharmonic under Christopher Hogwood, has been called “breathtaking” (Bayerische Rundfunk) and “extremely exciting” (Süddeutsche Zeitung). The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung raved about the “lyrical sensitivity and the ravishing technical mastery” of the duo in their Stravinsky ballets CD.
Their most recent album, “Illumination” was describe as “lluminating the complexity of this masterpiece in a way that has never been heard before”. Radio Bremen describes “The greatest art of two pianos playing. Stunning virtuosity... fantastic interplay...” and concludes “With this record, the two have ultimately established themselves at the top of the international piano duo scene”.
In 2020 the Silver–Garburg Piano Duo joined forces with the Vienna Symphony and Maestro Florian Krumpöck to record the world premiere of a new concerto, which was written for and dedicated to them: Richard Dünser’s adaptation of Brahms Quartet Op. 25 for piano, four hands and string orchestra.
Since 2014, the Silver–Garburg Duo occupy one of the few extant professorships for piano duo, at the Graz University for the Arts. They present master-classes at leading academic institutes in Moscow, Beijing, Melbourne, Vienna, Jerusalem, Wellington, Tallinn, Washington, Helsinki, Bratislava and more. Previously, they taught at the Hannover Musikhochschule, at which they themselves completed their studies in 2007 under Prof. Arie Vardi.
Silver and Garburg were well on the way to promising solo careers when they paired up first privately and then at the piano. After 20 years of playing together, Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg are establishing themselves at the top echelon of the music world. “As a piano duo, it’s easy to make effects with virtuosity. But that alone is far too little. We want to move our listeners emotionally and bring them to the core of the music”.
