The University's online admissions system will open on 20 July 2026. The registration deadline is 14 September 2026.
Admission Requirements for First-Cycle (Bachelor's) and Second-Cycle (Master's) Degree Programmes
To be admitted to the entrance examinations for first-cycle (Bachelor's) and second-cycle (Master's) degree programmes, applicants are required to:

Complete and submit the online application form no later than 14 September 2026.
Please note: The photograph uploaded to the Admissions System will be used for your student ID card. The uploaded file must meet the following requirements:
• it must be identical to the printed photograph submitted to the Academy together with the remaining application documents;
• it must be in colour;
• it must have a plain background;
• JPG format;
• dimensions: 400 × 500 pixels.
- Pay the Entrance Examination Fee
The entrance examination fee must be paid by 14 September 2026 (the date the payment is credited to the Academy's bank account will be considered binding).
The fee is PLN 150 and should be transferred to the individual bank account generated in the Admissions System. The fee for each additional programme, specialisation or instrument is PLN 85.
The payment reference should include:
• applicant's full name,
• faculty,
• programme,
• specialisation,
• the words „entrance examination”.
Please note that the entrance examination fee is non-refundable in the event of withdrawal from the admission process.

- Upload Required Materials
By 14 September 2026, applicants must upload to their individual folder in the Admissions System all materials required by the relevant faculty, including:
• sheet music in PDF format,
• audio recordings,
• audiovisual recordings,
as specified in the Admissions Guide.
- Submission of Audiovisual Recordings
If admission is based on recorded performances, applicants must upload all required audiovisual materials to their individual folder in the Admissions System no later than 14 September 2026.
- Documents to Be Submitted Before the Entrance Examination
Applicants are required to submit the following documents in person to the appropriate Faculty Admissions Office (during office hours), no later than one hour before the scheduled time of their first entrance examination:
• a printed and signed application form;
• a valid identity document;
• the required medical certificate (Faculty III – Vocal Pedagogy specialisation; Faculty IV – Eurhythmics specialisations);
• the examination programme (Faculty II only);
• a list of repertoire studied during the last two years (Faculty II only).
- Documents Required Prior to the Entrance Examination
Before taking the entrance examination, applicants must also submit to the appropriate Admissions Office:
• a copy of the secondary school leaving certificate (Matura certificate), certified by the Academy or a notary public (for applicants to first-cycle/Bachelor's degree programmes);
• one photograph measuring 35 × 45 mm, meeting the same requirements as a photograph for an identity card or passport, with the applicant's full name written on the reverse;
• a copy of the Bachelor's degree diploma certified by a notary public or by the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk (for applicants to second-cycle/Master's degree programmes).
Copies of the secondary school leaving certificate or the Bachelor's degree diploma may be certified as true copies by, among others, the Faculty Admissions Offices, the Teaching Office, or the Rector's Office.

Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk (aMuz)
These guidelines have been prepared for international applicants applying for first-cycle and second-cycle degree studies at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. The document contains the most important information regarding admission procedures, required documents, entrance examinations, legalization of documents, confirmation of language proficiency, and organization of studies for international students.
The guidelines have been prepared on the basis of the admission rules applicable at aMuz for the academic year 2026/2027.
Before starting the admission process, applicants should carefully familiarize themselves with:
- the range of degree programmes and specializations,
- entrance examination requirements for the selected programme and specializations,
- required examination repertoire,
- the entrance examination schedule,
- requirements regarding submitted examination materials.
At the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, admission procedures are conducted separately for individual faculties and degree programmes. The scope of examinations and required materials may vary depending on the programme and specialization.

STEP 1. Registration in the Online Admission System
Admission is conducted exclusively through the online admission system of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
Registration dates
- registration opens: 11 May 2026
- registration closes: 12 June 2026
After registration, the system will generate an application form. Applicants are required to:
- complete all required information,
- print the form,
- sign the form personally.
The printed and signed form must be submitted in person on the day of the entrance examination to the appropriate Faculty Admission Committee Office.
STEP 2. Admission Fee
Payment of the admission fee is required in order to participate in the entrance examinations.
Payment deadline
- by 12 June 2026
- the payment date is determined by the bank transfer date.
Fees
- PLN 150 – entrance examination for the first chosen degree programme,
- PLN 85 – for each additional degree programme, specialization or instrument.
The online admission system will generate an individual bank account number assigned to the applicant.

Admission fees are non-refundable in the event of withdrawal from the entrance examinations.

STEP 3. Submission of Examination Materials
Applicants for selected degree programmes and specializations are required to submit examination materials according to the requirements specified for the chosen programme.
Submission deadline
Materials may include:
- audio or video recordings,
- sheet music,
- examination repertoire,
- scores,
- original compositions.
Applicants for Composition degree programme may additionally be required to provide recordings or computer-generated sound simulations of the submitted compositions.
Materials must be uploaded to the applicant’s individual folder available in the online admission system.

STEP 4. Entrance Examinations
Examination dates
Information regarding qualification for examinations will be provided through the online admission system.
Examination structure
Entrance examinations consist of:
- two stages (Faculties I, II and IV),
- three stages (Faculty III).
Examinations may include:
- auditions,
- practical examinations,
- theoretical examinations,
- interviews.
Scoring system
All examinations are graded on a scale from 1 to 25 points.
Applicants may proceed to the next stage if they:
- obtain an average of at least 18 points,
- and receive at least 15 points in each subject assessed during the first stage.
The examination is considered passed if the applicant:
- obtains at least 13 points in each subject of the second or third stage,
- and receives an overall average of at least 15 points.
Applicants must bring to the examination:
- the printed and signed application form,
- an identity document,
- examination programme (Faculty II, III and Faculty IV – Jazz Vocal Performance and Jazz Instrumental Performance),
- a repertoire list from the last two years of study (Faculty II) .
Required medical certificates
Faculty III
Solo Singing,
Musical → a certificate issued by a phoniatrician confirming the absence of contraindications to vocal education is required.
Faculty IV
Eurhythmics → a medical certificate confirming the absence of contraindications to intensive movement and dance activities is required;
Jazz Vocal Performance → a certificate confirming the absence of contraindications to vocal education is required.
Medical certificates must be presented during the entrance examinations in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Faculty Admission Committee.
Applicants are required to present an identity document before entering the examination or audition.
STEP 5. Submission of Documents After the Examinations
Applicants who successfully pass the entrance examinations are required to submit the required documents.
Submission deadline
First-cycle applicants submit:
- 1 photograph (35 × 45 mm) signed with full name,
- a notarized copy of the secondary school leaving certificate or a copy certified by the Academy.
Second-cycle applicants submit:
- 1 photograph (35 × 45 mm),
- a notarized copy of the first-cycle diploma or a copy certified by the Academy.
If a second-cycle applicant has not yet received the diploma:
- by 10 July 2026 the applicant must submit a certificate confirming graduation and thesis defense,
- the certified diploma copy must be submitted by 1 September 2026 to the appropriate Office of Academic Affairs.
STEP 6. Documents Required from International Applicants
The scope of required documents depends on:
- the applicant’s citizenship,
- the country where the certificate or diploma was issued,
- the type of foreign educational document.
Applicants from EU, EFTA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom
Applicants who are citizens of:
- European Union member states,
- EFTA countries,
- Switzerland,
- the United Kingdom
follow the same admission procedure as Polish applicants.
These applicants are additionally required to submit:
- an identity document,
- a foreign secondary school certificate or diploma entitling the holder to undertake higher education studies,
- a sworn translation into Polish if the document was issued in a foreign language.
Applicants from outside the EU/EFTA
Applicants who are not citizens of:
- the European Union,
- EFTA countries,
- Switzerland,
- the United Kingdom
may be required to submit additional documents confirming eligibility to study in Poland.
Depending on the country of issue and the type of educational document, the Academy may require:
- an information statement issued by NAWA,
- a decision issued by the education superintendent,
- a nostrification document for the diploma or certificate.

Information issued by NAWA
NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) issues official information confirming whether a foreign educational document entitles the holder to undertake studies in Poland.
The procedure may take at least 60 days; therefore applicants are advised to begin the process well in advance.

STEP 7. Legalization of Foreign Educational Documents
If your secondary school certificate or diploma was issued outside Poland, the documents may require official legalization for use in Poland.
What should you do?
1. Check whether your country issues apostille certificates
If your country is a member of the Hague Convention, your document should receive an apostille certificate.
An apostille is an official certification confirming the authenticity of a document, issued by an authorized institution in the country where the document was issued.
2. If your country does not issue apostille certificates – complete legalization
If the country where the document was issued is not a member of the Hague Convention, legalization may be required.
Legalization is usually completed:
- at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country,
- and at the Polish consulate.
3. Obtain sworn translations
Documents prepared in a foreign language must be translated into Polish by a certified sworn translator.
4. Prepare documents for submission
After obtaining the apostille or legalization and completing the translations, the applicant should present:
- a copy of the certificate or diploma,
- sworn translations,
- the apostille or legalization document – if required,
- the original document for verification.
Important
The Academy of Music in Gdańsk does not participate in the apostille or legalization procedure.
The legalization process may take several weeks; therefore applicants are advised to begin the procedure as early as possible.
Information may be obtained:
- at a Polish consulate,
- at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country,
- through NAWA.
STEP 8. Confirmation of Language Proficiency
Studies at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk are conducted mainly in Polish.
Selected second-cycle degree programmes may be conducted in English in the following specializations::
Instrumental Performance,
Choral and Oratorio-Cantata Conducting.
Who is required to confirm language proficiency?
The requirement applies to applicants from outside:
- the European Union,
- EFTA countries,
- Switzerland,
- the United Kingdom,
who apply on the basis of foreign educational documents.
Applicants must confirm proficiency in the language of instruction at a minimum B2 level.
The following documents confirming proficiency in the Polish language are accepted:
1. Certificate of Polish Language Proficiency issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language (https://certyfikatpolski.pl/en/)
2. Certificate confirming proficiency in Polish issued by the following institutions:
- ECL – European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages (https://eclexam.eu/)
- TELC – telc GmbH, WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH (https://www.telc.net/en/language-examinations/; https://www.sjikp.us.edu.pl/pl/o-egzaminie-telc/)
1. Certificate of completion of a preparatory course for studies, lasting at least 9 months.
2. Diploma of completion of studies with Polish as the language of instruction, issued by a university operating within the higher education system of the Republic of Poland.
3. Diploma of completion of first-cycle, second-cycle, or long-cycle Master’s studies in Philology (Polish language) or Applied Linguistics, issued by a foreign university, together with a diploma supplement or certificate confirming that the number of hours of Polish language classes amounted to at least 500.
4. Certificate of entitlement to practice as a sworn translator issued by the Minister of Justice, or a certificate confirming registration on the list of sworn translators.
Studies conducted in English
The following documents confirming proficiency in English are accepted:
1. A certificate, diploma or other document that confirms proficiency in English in the four language skills: listening comprehension, reading, speaking, writing at a level of B2, C1 or C2 issued by:
- University of Cambridge, ESOL Examinations:
- B2 First (FCE),
- C1 Advanced (CAE),
- C2 Proficiency (CPE),
- B2 Business Vantage (BEC Vantage),
- C1 Business Higher,
- Certificate in English for International Business and Trade (CEIBT);
- University of Cambridge, ESOL Examinations, British Council, IDP IELTS Australia: International English Language Testing System IELTS – at least 5.5 points;
- Trinity College London:
- ESOL Skills for Life – Level 1 (B2) or higher,
- Integrated Skills in English (ISE) – ISE II or higher,
- ISE Digital – above 80 points (B2);
- Educational Testing Service (ETS):
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-Based Test version (iBT) – at least 72 points,
- Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) – at least: 785 points in the Listening & Reading part and 150 points in the Speaking part, and 160 points in the Writing part;
Pearson Assessment English: - Pearson English International Certificate – in person or online test (previously Pearson Test of English General (PTE) or London Tests of English) – Level 3 (Edexcel Certificate in ESOL International Level 1 – grade Pass, Merit, Distinction) or higher,
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) in person or online test– score at least 59 points;
- LanguageCert (PeopleCert Qualifications (PCQ)):
- LanguageCert International ESOL – LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Listening, Reading, Writing) (Communicator B2), also known as: LanguageCert International ESOL Communicator B2 Listening, Reading, Writing or higher, including LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Speaking) (Communicator B2), also known as LanguageCert International ESOL Communicator B2 Speaking or higher,
- LanguageCert Academic – LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) (LanguageCert Academic B2) or higher,
- LanguageCert Test of English – LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) (LanguageCert Test of English B2) or higher;
- Education Development International (EDI), London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board: London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations (LCCI):
- English for Business Level 2 or higher,
- Foundation Certificate for Teachers of Business English (FTBE);
- ECL – European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages – Level B2 (Vantage) or higher;
- TELC – telc GmbH, WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH:
- Certificate in English,
- Certificate in English for Business Purposes,
- Certificate in English for Technical Purposes,
- telc English,
- telc English Business,
- telc English Technical,
- telc English University.
1. Certificate of completion of a preparatory course for undertaking studies, lasting at least 9 months, confirming knowledge of English in four skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing, at the language proficiency level of B2, C1, or C2.
2. Diploma of completion of first-cycle studies, second-cycle studies, or long-cycle Master’s studies in the field of English philology or applied linguistics issued by a higher education institution operating in the system of higher education and science of the Republic of Poland or by a foreign university, together with a diploma supplement or certificate confirming that the number of hours of English language classes was at least 500.
3. Diploma of completion of first-cycle studies, second-cycle studies, or long-cycle Master’s studies issued by a higher education institution operating in the system of higher education
and science of the Republic of Poland or by a foreign university, containing information that English was the language of instruction of the studies; if the diploma does not contain such information – additionally a diploma supplement or certificate containing information about the language of instruction of the studies.
4. International Baccalaureate Diploma – with reference to the primary language.
5. European Baccalaureate Diploma – with reference to the first (L1) or second (L2) language.
6. Certificate of entitlement to practice as a sworn translator of the English language issued by the Minister of Justice or a certificate confirming registration on the list of sworn translators of the English language.
Important information
Not all certificates issued by language schools are recognized as proof of language proficiency at B2 level.
The types of documents accepted during the admission process are specified by the regulations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Applicants should verify before submission whether their certificate meets the required standards.
STEP 9. Legal Stay in Poland
Applicants from outside the European Union are required to obtain legal residence status in Poland.
Students should possess:
- a national visa,
- or a residence card / temporary residence permit,
- valid health insurance in Poland.
After arriving in Poland, students may be required to present residence documents during enrolment and while signing university documents.
STEP 10. Tuition Fees
Information regarding tuition fees for international students is published annually on the website of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
Some international applicants may be exempt from tuition fees on the basis of:
- a Rector’s decision,
- a Minister’s decision,
- a NAWA Director’s decision,
- international agreements,
- possession of a Polish Card (Karta Polaka),
- refugee or temporary protection status,
- permanent residence rights in Poland,
- a Polish language certificate at C1 level. Page 95
STEP 11. Accommodation and Support for International Students
International students may apply for accommodation in the student dormitory of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk according to the applicable regulations.

STEP 12. Commencement of Studies
Applicants admitted to studies are required to commence studies by 10 October 2026.
Commencing studies includes:
- signing the agreement with the Academy,
- signing the oath of matriculation,
- submitting required documents,
- completing administrative formalities.
Failure to commence studies may result in removal from the list of admitted students.
