Od lipca 2023 roku profesor nauk humanistycznych w dyscyplinie nauki o sztuce. Studiowała muzykologię na Uniwersytecie w Poznaniu. Pracę doktorską obroniła i przewód habilitacyjny przeprowadziła w Instytucie Sztuki PAN w Warszawie. Pracuje w Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku wykładając historię muzyki, kultury muzyczne świata i kognitywistykę muzyki. Na swoje dotychczasowe prace naukowe otrzymała granty Komitetu Badań Naukowych, Ministerstwa Edukacji i Nauki, Uniwersytetu w Cambridge i Biblioteki Polskiej w Paryżu.
Za działalność naukowo-dydaktyczną została wyróżniona odznaką honorową „Zasłużony dla Kultury Polskiej” oraz nagrodami rektorskimi. Opublikowała książki: Tadeusz Zygfryd Kassern. Indywidualne odmiany stylów muzycznych XX wieku (Rhytmos 2011) i Muzyka Pawła Szymańskiego w świetle poetyki intertekstualnej postmodernizmu (Musica Iagellonica 2018) oraz około 100 artykułów naukowych,
m.in. w pracach zbiorowych wydanych przez prestiżowe wydawnictwa Routledge i Brepols, encyklopedii Die Musik in Geschichte
und Gegenwart i czasopismach „Tempo. A Quarterly Review of Modern Music” (UK), „Studies in Musical Theatre” (UK), „Res Facta Nova”, „Musicology Today”, „Avant. Trends in Interdisciplinary Studies”, „Muzyka”. Współredagowała książkę Intertextuality in Music: Dialogic Composition opublikowaną przez Routledge (2021) i tom 7. rocznika „Aspekty Muzyki” (2017). W latach 2010-14 była członkiem Rady Redakcyjnej „Krytyki Muzycznej”, natomiast ostatnio działa w radach redakcyjnych dwóch ukraińskich, anglojęzycznych czasopism:
„The Culturology Ideas” i „Musicological Thought of Dnipropetrovsk Region”. Wygłosiła około 20 autorskich wykładów w różnych instytucjach naukowych w Polsce i na Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst w Wiedniu, wzięła czynny udział w wielu konferencjach muzykologicznych, m.in. w Nowym Jorku, Lizbonie, Londynie, Oxfordzie, Canterbury, Huddersfield, Lipsku, Greifswaldzie, Frankfurcie (O), Lucce, Belgradzie, Zagrzebiu, Wilnie, Petersburgu i Kijowie. W Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku odbyły się dwie zorganizowane przez nią konferencje muzykologiczne: ogólnopolska Muzyka postmodernistyczna z perspektywy intertekstualności (2016), międzynarodowa Explicitly Intertextul Music since 1890 (2019), a obecnie przygotowuje trzecią konferencję, międzynarodową, zatytułowaną Meaning of Music (https://meaningofmusic2024.pl). Należy do Sekcji Muzykologów Związku Kompozytorów Polskich i Society for Interdisciplinary Musicology (Graz) oraz prowadzi badania w ramach Interdyscyplinarnej Pracowni Neurobiologii Muzyki zamocowanej na Uniwersytecie Gdańskim. Jej aktualne zainteresowania naukowe oscylują wokół kognitywnych aspektów muzyki, znaczeń muzycznych, kreatywności muzycznej, intertekstualności w muzyce, muzyki w multimediach i różnych problemów muzyki XX
i XXI wieku.

From July 2023 Professor of Humanities in the discipline of Art Studies. Trained as musicologist at the University in Poznań, she received her PhD and habilitation degrees from the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Currently works at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk; lectures on the history of music, world music cultures and music cognition. She won scientific scholarships from the State Committee of Scientific Research in Poland, the Ministry of Education and Science, the University
of Cambridge and the Polish Library in Paris. For scientific and didactic activity, she was awarded the honorary medal "Distinguihed
for Polish Culture" and rector's awards. Her research achievements include books in Polish: Tadeusz Zygfryd Kassern and his Idioms
of the Twentieth-century Musical Styles (Rhytmos 2011) and Paweł Szymański’s Music in Light of Intertextual Poetics of Postmodernism (Musica Iagellonica 2018) and about 100 articles published among others in the multi-author books released by prestigious Routledge and Brepols publishing houses, the encyclopedia Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart and journals: „Tempo. A Quarterly Review of Modern Music” (UK), “Studies in Musical Theatre” (UK), “Res Facta Nova”, “Musicology Today”, “Avant. Trends in Interdisciplinary Studies”, “Muzyka”. She co-edited the book Intertextuality in Music: Dialogic Composition published by Routledge (2021) and volume
no. 7 of the „Aspects of Music” yearbook (2017). In years 2010-2014 she was a member of the Editorial Board of “Krytyka Muzyczna”
and currently is a member of such boards of two Ukrainian, issued in English, journals: “The Culturology Ideas” and “Musicological Thought of Dnipropetrovsk Region”. She gave about 20 author-lectures in various scientific institutions in Poland and at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna and took part in many musicological conferences, including the ones held in New York, Lisbon, London, Oxford, Canterbury, Huddersfield, Leipzig, Greifswald, Frankfurt (O), Lucca, Belgrade, Zagreb, Vilnius, St. Petersburg
and Kiev. Two musicological conferences were organized at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk by her: the nationwide Postmodern Music from the Perspective of Intertextuality (2016) and the international Explicitly Intertextul Music since 1890 (2019); nowadays she
is preparing third conference, an international one, entitled Meaning of Music (https://meaningofmusic2024.pl). She belongs
to the Musicology Section of the Polish Composer’s Union, Society for Interdisciplinary Musicology (Graz) and conducts research within Neurobiology of Music Study Group at the Gdańsk University. Her current research interests oscillate around music cognition, musical meaning, music creativity, intertextuality in music, music in multimedia and different problems of music of the twentieth century
and twenty-first century.
